Hot Metal Detector

Hot Metal Detectors (HMD) are designed for tracking hot products at the different stages of the hot rolling process. In critical operation such as for the control of the shear (head/tail crop, or cut to length) it is important to rely on accurate sensors which will detect in less than 1 ms the head and tail.

Line Encoder

An encoder is a combinational circuit that performs reverse function of a decoder. It accepts 2 n input and produces output in n output lines. This process of generating codes based on the values of input lines is called encoding.

Miniature Pressure Transmitter

The miniature pressure transmitter is mainly composed of load cell sensor, measuring circuit and process connection. It can convert the received pressure signals of gas and liquid into standard current and voltage signals (4-20mADC) to provide secondary instruments such as indicating alarms, recorders, regulators for measurement, indication and process adjustment. Generally speaking, the phenomenon or operation in which the input or output value of the transmitter is equal to or greater than the upper limit of the measurement is called full scale. The pressure transmitter has full scale, which means that the pressure of the measuring range has been measured (or exceeded). For example, in the range of 0~100, its starting point (0) is called the lower limit of measurement, also called zero point; the end point (100) is called the upper limit of measurement, also called full range. The formula of the measurement range = upper limit of measurement - lower limit of measurement.

Level Transmitter

Level transmitters transmitters are used in a wide variety of applications requiring level measurement within tanks or containers. The chemical, food and beverage, water treatment, material handling, and power industries often employ level transmitters. A user must consider alevel transmitter's measurement range and output compatibility when selecting a device.

Gauge Pressure Transmitter

A gauge pressure (GP) transmitter compares a process pressure against local ambient air pressure. Gauge pressure transmitters have ports to sample the ambient air pressure in real-time. Today’s highly accurate gauge pressure transmitters can be affected by fluctuations in the local ambient pressure. Measurements above the ambient air pressure are represented as a positive number, while negative number represents measurements below ambient. A gauge pressure measurement is indicated by the letter ‘g’ following the unit of measure of the reading (i.e., inH₂O(g) or psig).

I TO P Converter

A“current to pressure” (I/P) converter converts an analog signal (4 to 20 mA) to a proportional linear pneumatic output (3 to 15 psig). Its purpose is to translate the analog output from a control system into a precise, repeatable pressure value to control pneumatic actuators/operators, pneumatic valves, dampers, vanes, etc.

Process Indicator

Process Indicator: « Back to Glossary Index These areare indicators which directly measure the performance of key processes that affect customer expectations. Specific actions can be taken to improve the performance of these indicators, which in turn should improve the performance of the result measurable.

Fuses

fuse isis an electrical safety device that operates to provide overcurrent protection of an electrical circuit. . Its essential component is a metal wire or strip that melts when too much current flows through it, thereby stopping or interrupting the current.

Proximity Sensor

A proximity sensor is asensor able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact. A proximity sensor often emits an electromagnetic field or a beam of electromagnetic radiation ( infrared, for instance), and looks for changes in the field or return signal.

RTD Display

An RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) is a sensor whose resistance changes as its temperature changes. The resistance increases as the temperature of the sensor increases. The resistance vs temperature relationship is well known and is repeatable over time. An RTD is a passive device. It does not produce an output on its own. External electronic devices are used to measure the resistance of the sensor by passing a small electrical current through the sensor to generate a voltage. Typically 1 mA or less measuring current, 5 mA maximum without the risk of self-heating. Yujj Automation

Solenoid Valve

A solenoid valve is an electromechanically operated valve. Solenoid valves differ in the characteristics of the electric current they use, the strength of the magnetic field they generate, the mechanism they use to regulate the fluid, and the type and characteristics of fluid they control. The mechanism varies from linear action, plunger-type actuators to pivoted-armature actuators and rocker actuators. The valve can use a two-port design to regulate a flow or use a three or more port design to switch flows between ports. Multiple solenoid valves can be placed together on a manifold.

Flow Control

A control valve is a valve used to control fluid flow by varying the size of the flow passage as directed by a signal from a controller. This enables the direct control of flow rate and the consequential control of process quantities such as pressure, temperature, and liquid level.
